Are you in favor of the "No Homework" bill?

One of the latest buzz circulating in various news media platforms is the proposed "No Homework" bill.

As I read through the comments section of the post of some news media on Facebook, I couldn't help but think out loud.

Parents and guardians have a synonymous reaction to the issue. They are against the policy since doing homework is their bonding and quality time with their kids. They also said that doing homework help their children review and understand better the previous lessons and prepare the students for upcoming lessons. Some said that doing homework means less gadget time and less wandering around. I also read absurd reactions such as "homework teaches discipline and prevent laziness, now what?"

I personally think that homework isn't the only way to bond with my child. I read books to her, play ball with her and teach her new things. Now that my child knows how to read, she studies by herself. I just help her review her previous lessons if the subject is hard for her. I prepare her for the next lessons if she thinks she needs my help. Even before, we don't need homework to bond nor to review. And homework isn't the only way to teach discipline.
I believe most parents do their children's homework and school projects so, who are the ones who are really studying at home?

Your thoughts and reactions to this matter are highly appreciated.

Forme i would prefer no homework on weekdays but have it on weekends.Students need to rest after 8 hrs. of lectures. Longer hours & pressure will affect their physical being.Brains need rest as well. Reply
